I picked a few dozen used 110s this week. This one was in the batch. Not sure if it’s a replacement dog, factory or home made. Any thoughts on its origin.

Factory, but I don't remember the manufacturer.

I think that is a Montgomery Stake n take. See if there are markings on the clamp that holds the wire. Might say MTI

Strongest 110 spring of it's day.

Another give away that it is a Montgomery is the flat piece of metal with a hole in each end that is where the 2 jaws come together. You bend that into a U shape and that is where the stake attaches. Thus stake n take. Traps originally came with a wimpy 12 inch stake that wasn’t worth diddly.

Many trappers were not fond of that trigger. I’ve been told that there are any number of those traps in creeks and lakes because the trapper got frustrated with setting the trap and gave it a “heave ho”. . LOL

They were my fav.
But I toured the place, biased.

Did they make 160s?
That'd have been knuckle buster.

I still have a few of those that I bought when I was I kid ,still use em too. Never had a problem with those dogs they work just fine .

Thank you wissmiss for the ID on the 110. I’ve owned hundreds of traps over the years but never came in contact with that one.
