Almost ready for the furharvesters pickup on Saturday. It's bittersweet. You have so much fun trapping and finishing fur but when their gone you get a feeling of loss. Maybe it's me. I've always felt that way when the furs go out the door.

Nice looking stack woodlot.
I feel the same way you do. Got all the fur bagged and ready for our convention starting tomorrow. Mary from FHA will be there to pick up.
There’ll be a few more beaver yet, but nothing crazy.

yes, I agree, always seem like something is wrong when there's no fur in the shed

I understand what you mean about the feeling of loss. I never caught enough of anything to sell. Always keep for myself or have tanned to give as gifts to family or friends.

Have you ever thought of having a bedspread or blanket made from some of the beaver, to keep around and use? It would likely help with the feeling of loss.

I have thought about a blanket out of beaver. I may do that if the price goes down more. I trap them every Spring because I love it. I can't imagine not doing it. Plus it gives me access to so much good deer and turkey hunting. The landowners want them cleaned out.

Those look fully prime for the most part. You'll do way better with northern prime beaver at FHA than "The rat wagon". Good handling and Tug Hill area has always had a good quality beaver. White leather prime Southern beaver (south of the Mason/Dixon line, might just as well be sold green for single digit prices.
