Raw beaver castor in a peanut butter jar full of river water seems to be the ticket. I dump it on the bank slides / over castor mounds and set per usual. I used to swear by Bob Wilsons Green Beaver Lure. I also picked up some Backbreaker to try this year. I finally laid my purchased lures aside for a while until I feel the need to change things up. Do lures target the trapper more than the beavers? Beaver trapping is enough work as it is, keep it simple stupid......

I learned that trick many years ago from a good beaver trapper. I use a milk jug though.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I know nothing about beavers but if u want an answer to your question when it comes to coyotes all you have to do is do sone comparative testing.

Seems like it'd be pretty ripe in a week. But I'll keep it in mind in a pinch.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Put clean raw castor in glycerin (I use gallon glass jars).

About half gallon of castors and fill jar up to about 3/4 full with glycerin. I put a piece of t-shirt under screwed on lid.

After several months you will have a lot of good castor tincture. All you need is a good squirt bottle and go catch beavers.

I do oil sac the same way.

Thank God For Your Blessings!

I have been using the same castor since December, I was worried about it going sour myself. I had 4 sets out for a pair of beavers on private property. One set was made with the raw castor and the other 3 with commercial castor lure. The raw set is the only set producing.

I've been using the same castor since November from an early season beaver. As long as you remove the flesh properly castor seems to last quite a while
