Rockies of western Alberta. Some of the country there is unreal, the trappers just treat it like another day when on the line…..lol The ice fields are a cool drive Doing that drive between Banff & Jasper in July, a few hikes then on to the Alberta Rendezvous. Should be a good time!

A lot of Oregon. But maybe tops is a spot at about 6-7000 ft elevation coming down the eastern corridor of the Andes in Ecuador where you come around a curve on the gravel road and can see 9 waterfalls all seemingly coming off the top of forested mountains. There was a small shack with some chickens and pigs nearby for sale.... complete view of everything. I asked how much. $1000 I thanked him and started to walk a way and he came running after me....$700?
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I've not travelled extensively at all.... but for me, it was probably the UP of Michigan.

Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.....deep out in the swamp near Floyd's Island and Chase Prairie...accessible now only by canoe. I worked with some fellows from your neck of the woods and they always talked about the sinkholes with white sand beaches they would find out in the middle of the woods. I bet some of those are beautiful, at least it seemed that they would be by the way they described them. There are a few of those, but most sinks here have sheer edges rimmed by limestone rocks. Older sinks have eroded sloped edges that are rimmed with large live oaks, palmetto bushes and palms. Many are spring fed/connected and the water is crystal clear.

Some spectacular places in the Black Hills. Agree And I was remiss by leaving the Badlands of SD off my initial list.

Hard to say; the top of Mount Rainier, Adak Island (feels like a different planet), the upper Coleen River in the extreme NE corner of Alaska are a few places that come to mind.

Shakey, the whole stretch from radium hot springs through the ice fields and over muncho to Watson lake is a nice drive (except the cost of diesel in Canada)
Won’t be heading that far west but sticking to the western edge of Alberta. I don’t even take pics anymore. You look at them after and they just don’t do justice. Anyone that’s never been to see any real mountains, it’s overwhelming. The best stuff to do in these expensive towns is to get out and hike, the trails in the federal parks are “free” with a park pass, but there’s lots outside the parks.
