No real ID. Flying before deadline. Coming back after. This post saved me from an incident. Packing my passport. I wonder how many incidents will happen? My current job is with the TSA and new policy has already started being a nothing and we have a SMALL airport. I can only imagine it's going to be a real fun month when real ID kicks in. Kicker: No local DMV currently cause we couldn't find any staff. No road to drive to a different DMV either.

I just got new license. It has a picture that is about twenty years old. I get renewed by mail. They didn’t put a star on mine. Shouldn’t it be mandatory they do?

Beginning May 7, 2025, if you plan to use your state-issued ID or license to fly within the U.S., make sure it is REAL ID compliant Or and enhanced ID. Either works. Not a big deal. You need one or the other if you plan to fly or enter federal buildings, etc.

My son who is 40 went to bimart and got a can of gun scrubber and cleaning patches. When he goes to the check stand to pay the lady said I need to see your ID. He asked why she said any gun related items we have to see photo ID, he said forget it and walked out why would they need to do that and enter it in their system for gun cleaning stuff is beyond me

When they card (I'm 65) I walk out leaving everything on the counter and in the cart. ME too, I'm 70. If an employee ain't smart enough to tell I'm over 21 they aren't smart enough to sell me anything. I don't have a passport, never did. My passport was my military ID. I'm not getting one of those new Drivers licenses either. I wanna see if the world really will stop if if I don't have either!

Cant enter a fed building without a real id either. At least that what they told me when I renewed a few weeks ago.. I dont plan on being in one of those anytime soon The VA is a federal building. Wonder if they will keep me out of the VA?

When I go to the VA hosp they want my ID when they draw blood. Again when I check in to see the dr. When I showed up in the emergency room with a broke ankle and leg they asked for it. That VA ID is the one I often show when asked for ID. The only info on it is my name and picture.

First time I was asked for ID to buy alcohol was at a restaurant. I asked why.......was told someone got sued for age discrimination.......so solution was to card everyone, regardless of age. You would think asking some 30 something for an ID would be a compliment, but apparently not. That practice came and went. Have never been carded to buy ammo, primers, powder or bullets. But I get all that at Graf's. If the card works or the money is green, they take it, no questions asked.
As for real ID, current pending federal legislation is SAVE ACT, which will require photo ID to vote, and that photo ID will have to be lf the type that proves you are a US citizen. A real ID works for that, as does a US passport. Intended to prevent illegals from voting in US elections.
A secondary benefit of the SAVE ACT is to cut down on fake voters voting. Names registered in the system, but no such person exists, yet they are sent live ballots in the mail. Somebody gets them, marks them up and returns them. Hard for that person to produce a real ID when they don't exist in the first place.
Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

I want to know why a cashier is the person whose responsibility it is to prevent kids from smoking and drinking. Just another ridiculous law its time to abolish. I don't even want to guess how much tax money is wasted on it. Big brother can not even keep them from shooting up heroin. All government can do is put the information out there.
