I am too go go go to just stop working. I always said even when I retire I would have to have a tedious hobby to do or I would die of boredom. It is good that you have the ability to do so. Best of luck my friend!

Now you both have new jobs, and you have scouting and trapping partners to boot.

The wife enlisted in the Navy right before we got married, I worked for her first two transfers, then the kids started school. That's when I started driving a school bus, no more worries about looking for work or day cares. Always home with the girls Holidays and summer breaks. Oh and it lead to many openings to trap on farms on my routes!!~

Prayers for you and your wife. One of the things I regret is not to have been able to spend more time with my kids.
When my kids went to school my wife went with them. She became a teacher assistant. Her job was what carried us when I was not able to work.

We did that twice. Once for Two years in the 80's and again in the 90's

You'll be taking over when they are going into teen years

I'm tired of beating up my body at work, and it's just a paycheck for me, I have no passion fo what I do. I'm good at it, but it's just a job. Wifey's got a job at a youth rehab center (basically a kid's prison), something she's very passionate about, that pays about the same with similar benefits, and room to move up the ladder as well. So while Wifey's out earning a living, I'll be here teaching the kids and doing all the house-husband stuff. I'm excited for it

Are there any other t-man stay at home dads?

Win-Win, enjoy your new life!!

It’s worked out quite well!

One of the perks of being self-employed was that I could set my own hours. Over the years I was able to get the kids off to school in the mornings when my wife had to leave early to go to work. It became a special time for all of us (three daughters and and two grandkids). We'd go out 15-20 minutes early and play with the dogs or play catch or swing, anything they wanted to do while we waited for the bus.

I'm so glad I had that opportunity.

Loosegoose, I hope it works out for you.

Eh...wot?

I was lucky and be able to work at home so was able to be there from the start when kids were born. I did get a night janitor job when the second one was born though to get a little more money in. Being there with the kids was great, do it all over again if I could. It was nice never having to have someone else raise the kids, they turned out really good too
