Any tips for a new trapper trying to target Bobcats? Seeing pretty consistent cat tracks.

If u got a lot of them they don't seem to hard to catch. If u don't have a lot of them set a lot of traps and wait. I'm not an expert cat trapper but this is my approach that seems to produce the best. Find the thickest /roughest cover u can find because that's we the rabbits, mice and rats will be. Then find the travel ways through the cover, find the narrowest spot on these travel ways and narrow them down so they HAVE to cross your trap. Next block in your trap so the only place to step is on your pan. Add visual attraction and lure to the side if it makes u feel better.
My 2 cents for what it's worth.
Ps
If u have lots of possums and coons and deer set 3 times as many traps in hopes there's at least one still in operation if a cat comes by.

Go to the Archives , there is more info in there than you can absorb in several years.

I don't target cats but I generally catch a couple every year and more than not it is in a big flashy stepdown dirt hole set .Set on sign for your better results.if you have frequent tracks then that is a good place to start.

Well Bama, make your best coyote set and a cat will clog it up, lol.
You can use a subtle flat set or a big ole flashy dirt hole and catch cats. I’m guessing y’all have just as many as we do (neighbor to the East) You’ll catch enough to be able to save the urine and fill up a couple 16oz empty bottles. Like someone mentioned, if you got cats it’s hard to keep them out of the sets. Find a cat toilet and you’ll catch for weeks.
