The just mailed April Fur Taker Magazine has a nice picture of Ronnie Cauble on the cover doing a root demo. FTA editor Eric Arnold also had a very well written eulogy about Ronnie and his life in the same issue.

We are losing our old timers and the lives they lived are part of an era that is also fading and will not be seen again.

Thanks to Eric for recognizing an "old timer's" life well lived and his heartfelt words about a friend who is gone but not forgotten.

Very nice words about Mr.Cauble. And I'm sure Eric did a great job...haven't got mine yet.

I just received my copy yesterday and recognized Ron right away. As you say the old timers are nearing the end of their trails.

I am also one of those old timers now and not sure how many more years I have left. Ron lived a simple but productive and interesting life. His knowledge was shared as much as he could in his writings and demos.

The first articles I would read each issue was about Rons daily and past years experiences. He took a lifetime of experience with him but he walked his own path and made due with his passion of the outdoors.

I would have liked to have known him better. RIP Ron.

I had the great fortune to get to meet Mr. Cauble at the same FTA Rendezvous in Indiana in 2021 that Eric Arnold mentioned in his article. He was as nice a guy as you'd ever want to meet. While we only got to visit briefly after his demo, I enjoyed every minute of it. Mr. Cauble's demo was one of my favorites of all time. I still have some of the little brown sack of sassafras that he gave to me.

Our son counted him as a good friend and mentor, I was fortunate to share his company at a few FTA meets.

Was very saddened to hear about Ron’s passing..
Not too many of us wildcrafters left.
