Hello. Seeing what experiences you have had hunting turkeys in the heat(90+). For years we had to stop hunting at 1:00 and are in N MO anyway. Have hunted in the 80's off and on. Sitting out this AM for youth season wandered if turkeys act much differently right off the roost when it already starts off really hot. Head for the woods quick? Stay out of the sun? Slower movement? Any difference at all?

Supposed to hit 82 this afternoon.
Yes they hit the shade/timber at that temp and bright sunshine.
It’s not hot enough this morning to effect them any in my opinion.

Not really wondering about our weather as have hunted in all MO has to offer but anyone have experiences in 90+? or was your experience in 90+? Thanks.

Have killed turkeys in weather from snow to 100 degrees. I personally do not like hunting in extreme heat but turkeys still have to be turkeys and scratch out a living regardless. At home, I would sit out the extreme heat but on an out of state hunting trip, I deal with whatever mother nature throws at me. On 90 plus days, I would hunt early in the morning and late afternoon, skipping the mid day heat.

I have witnessed turkeys in the mid day heat find a shade tree and squat down for awhile. Most will move to the shady side of the field they are in or hit the woods.

Wildlife does what wildlife does 24/7/365. Only hunters change.
Turkeys still gonna fly off the roost and strut and gobble like always whether it’s in snow or 80 degree lows at sunrise.
About 10ish they’re gonna go trolling for a hen, probably not in the wide open sunshine, so think shady areas whether that be swamps or bottoms or even just shaded areas. I’ve watched them spend close to 2hrs in one spot just following the shade around one tree as the sun moved.
They still gobble and they still mate despite the weather.
