Get it done. Had two buddies die from colon cancer, it was not pretty. Start the prep 1:00pm day before and you are done by 8:00 pm so you get a good night sleep.

Get it done. Don’t listen to the people saying it’s terrible. It really isn’t that bad, the prep is the worse thing of the whole procedure. Good luck it will be ok.

I never went to sleep when they did mine. Didn't hurt or anything. The best part is when it's done and you are in recovery and the nurses are wanting you to pass gas. It's nice to have a woman appreciate your flatulence.

I had my first one at 50. They found a non-cancerous polyp and removed it. Dr. said that one colonoscopy reduced my chances of getting colon cancer by about 95%. Had another one at 60, nothing showed up. Now on the non-invasive tests every 5 years.

Why even go to the Dr if only going to do half the testing?

I waited till I was 60…
13 removed.
I had to do a second one shortly after at the hospital because they found a polyp the size of a small snake ….
Stuff is flowing smoother now for sure…..

They've made a lot of advancements in the last 15 years with prep and procedures. My first one they gave me a stick to bite down on, pretty simple now.

Vinke, did you just admit you like white claws? I'm wondering if you like the procedure too? whistle

Now if you had said something like vodka and C4 or Reign then I wouldn't question it.
Usually the other gender drink white claws here.

I had a colonoscopy a couple of years ago. It wasn't that bad. I just drank all the laxative as fast as possible and sat on the toilet for a few hours. The actual procedure was run like an assembly line, with almost the whole floor of the hospital being used as a waiting area, prep area, procedure area and recovery area, for many dozens of people getting colonoscopies a day. It went really fast.

I had two small polyps removed.

I dont think I want to go through cancer treatment. I am already lots slower than I was. Get tired quick. For me, not anyone else, if it happens think I will just take my turn.

In all seriousness don't screw around and get it done. I have 2 current co workers that had colon cancer, stage 4. They are both fine now and fortunately don't have colostomy bags. The lady had hers when she was 45, the guy mid 40's as well. I work with him my entire shift as the outside spotters. He ironically has a colonoscopy scheduled for the 21st. He'll be 60 this year.

Both of them went through heck with their treatments, especially her. My wife was one of her drivers when she went through radiation. She did chemo pills as well.
I have a former co worker that had it as well and has a bag for the rest of his life. If I remember right he said they removed over 30 polyps from his colon.

I did the colon guard test a few years ago but I should probably have an actual one done myself as I turn 54 this year. From what I've read cologuard doesn't always catch a problem.

Good luck and don't put it off.

Colon cancer is the most preventable cancer there is. Docs used to reccomend your 1st at 50 but are now often recommending your 1st at a younger age. I lost a friend who was diagnosed too late at 45. So get it done. The prep is the only discomfort, you will be out for the other part. Recovery is quick, no ill effects.

Eating very little the day before prep and nothing the day of will make it a lot easier. Last time I did it was about a year ago and the new prep is easier (less to drink) than in the past. Still the same purge but less discomfort doing it.

I was told in my late 60s that I wouldn’t need another exam. Then in my early 70s,I had a colon exam and guess what - colon cancer. Gastro doc put a tattoo in the colon above and below the bad spot. Colon surgeon removed the colon between the tatts. Stay up to date. Why die of something so easy to fix when caught early.

The 1st ½ of the drink isn't bad. It's hard to finish the 2nd half because you just don't feel you can drink anymore. Guy at work says Mayo offers a deal for $100 that is way less to drink and tastes better. Beyond that do it!!! I was like you, but it's not bad.

I mix the Muralax with Gatorade and drink it down in one shot. Get it over with, don't sip!
