Ihad a good tech college teaching friend that took 4 trips to Montana to finally get his really nice big 6 by 6 bull elk. That elk cost him over 200K as he needed to build a bigger house to put the mount up! This was in the late 19902s when you could get a pretty nice house in WI for 200K. I am different then he is. I caught a 50.5 inch 32Ls. muskie and mounted that and put it in my basement. we each make different choices in life.

Maybe the bull elk just sensed you weren’t the alpha in the situation…

Man dear alive Bruce. What a lifetime of adventure and achievement. I'd love to hear some of the stories from these sometime. I'm brand new to trapping and only a couple years into hunting (just one small buck so far, I rarely stand hunt over bait I still hunt and passed on a doe last year) but it's all I want to do anymore. Thanks for sharing this picture.

Sometimes they try to bite too.

I have nothing clever to put here.
