Root beer, anise, and licorice are about the only flavor of food that I don’t care for.

Made a few batches and used yeast for the co2. It left some sediment in the bottom of the bottles but overall, it was good.

Birch beer used to easy to find around here , hard to find now. A good sarsaparilla is nice now and then. Hard to find too.

My husband does too. That’s the only time that I refuse to kiss him. I can’t stand the smell of it on his breath.

Buy a bottle of Hires Root Beer Extract. Follow the directions. Just stir cold water, sugar, and the exract in a big water cooler then put some big chunks of dry ice in it for a while to carbonate it. I'ts always a hit at reunions and big gatherings around here. I have made it many times. When I was a kid my mom used yeast for the fiz and bottled a bunch. I prefer the dry ice method.

United we stand.

I have a soda stream if I wanted to make something fizzy. Can make a lot of pop with this and you can control how much carbonation you want.

I do not make it but I'm interested. My son and I will drive and or spend more then a reasonable amount for craft rootbeers and cream sodas. We have tried 100's of brands. The best I've ever had is called Money bags, it's made by Gene Simons.

When I was a kid we used to make it. A little yeast went in it for the fizz. I didn't care for it if it went a little long. Tasted to yeasty. Be pretty wild too uncapping if you let it go long. Timed right it was pretty good.

I've made it but it turned out flat. Wasn't good. Have tried a number of local brew rootbeers as I've gone places since I don't care much for drinks. Some have been okay but others are really good.

Diane is from near Allentown, PA and birch beer is a very common drink there. When her parents were alive still and we would visit, we would load up on A-Treat birch beer. On one trip, I bought every can and bottle of A-Treat birch beer at a grocery store near Macungie, including all they had in the back. It lasted her about a year.

I love the smell of sasafras. My uncle David had a cabin where Meigs and Vinton County, Ohio come together. When I was around 10, he gave me a small sassafras tree he pulled, that I would occasionally scratch and sniff for years.
