If you mean a gas engine, it would be good to get it up to operating temp to make sure its dry inside. When PWCs get flooded, standard advice is to do whatever it takes to get the engine running, then run it hard for 30 minutes to dry out the internals.



Yes gas motor. 355 Chevy small block. I was always told never attempt to start a submerged engine. If water fills the cylinders and has no where to go you will bend the push rods. That’s why you pull the spark plugs to allow fluid somewhere to escape. At least that is what my engine builder tells me.

Yes you can bend things, but now that stuff is drained you should run it some to get the oil pumped through the check the oil for water just in case some hung up in the engine somewhere.

I agree. So pull the plugs and crank it over to blow the water out. Then put the plugs back in and get it started.

Well, ran it aboyt6 miles one way this morning to get temp up and then idle. Looks like I dodged a bullet. About a $25 fix.

We caught 45 crappie and this female this morning.

She was 6.3 lbs
