4 Saphire Gem F. chicks

$12 each At a Cities farm and Garden store.

I have 21 0thers on order from an AG center .

But they said the order might not get filled by July...so I paid a lot for these 4.

I hope you have better luck with sapphire gems than I did. I had two in my mixed batch of 7 hens and they were egg eaters. Caught em in the act, pecking them to break them open then eating them. That was over a year ago, none since after culling them.

They are good looking hens, it was probably just these two, but it kinda scared me from getting more of them. Maybe someday I will give em a try again.

The supply is finally catching up with demand on chicks around here. Adult hens are a different matter.

I hope they lay loads of great eggs for you Scott.

Thanks Keith,

I could have hatched some from our flock of 6, They are laying well yet; I just am not feeling like intubating eggs right now.

If you put ceramic eggs in were there pecking eggs this will often stop the egg eating.
