Rainy Holy Saturday here in Oklahoma. The family just watched The Passion of the Christ again. The imagery is incredible and hits in the heart.

Looking forward to Mel Gibson's Resurrection of the Christ. It is supposed to start filming this summer.

Annual Ten Commandments viewing will happen tomorrow after Mass while we are cooking.

Happy Easter TMan.

Once was enough. Too graphic for me. Can't imagine the cruelty that existed.

Is there more to the movie than a person, who looks like Jesus being tortured? I have never seen it.

I pictured it as probably being a live action Stages of the Cross.

Of all the movies made about Jesus and the torture leading up to the crucifixion, based on what the bible says, Passion of the Christ is probably the most accurate.

Of all the actors that played Jesus, I always felt the best one was played by Robert Powell in Jesus of Nazareth. Interesting, prior to playing the role of Jesus, Powell considered himself as having little faith. But as he said, portraying Jesus completely changed him when he realized the magnitude of what Jesus had given up and had done.

very good movie, yet, what was done to Jesus before the cross and crucifixion far exceeds anything any of us can remotely imagine. It was by Gods power alone that he survived the scourging and beatings so he could make it to Golgotha for him to be raised up on a tree to fulfill the old testament prophecies. Isaiah 52:13-53:12 will give you a most insightful account of what he endured. Let alone the other 300 plus prophesies in the old testament about the coming of the Messiah and what was Gods will for Him, to save our sorry butts.

I can not depart this topic without this, he wasnt killed by Pilot or the Pharisees. Nor the Jewish people, he willingly laid down his life for each and every one of us that we might accept him and have eternal life.

he could have stopped it, yet he didnt in obedience to the will of the Father that we, could be reconciled and have eternal life. That choice is up to each and every one of us.

What most do not understand is this, you are an eternal being, you can be eternally in the lake of fire or eternally in the presence of God the Father and our Lord and Savior. But, you will be in one place or the other. AND, it is eternal!!

The choice is yours and yours alone. It is not the will of the Father that any should perish, but that all may come to Christ and have eternal life.

Death and heyull were meant for Satan and his rebellious followers that rebelled against God. God provided us a way to enter eternity with Him.

The Passion is the most powerful movie I have ever seen. We watch it every year as well on Easter. I think it follows the Gospel of Luke pretty well. I also think that when I get to Heaven, I will not be surprised if I see Pontius Pilate there. This year, my youngest watched it with us 9 yo. I hope she understands the weight; particularly when she sees here daddy sobbing.

I am looking forward to Mel Gibson's Resurrection. I know it will be incredible.

Read the Gospel of Luke. Pretty much follows that narrative IMO.

Good post. It's like Billy Graham once said, "We all have eternal life. It's just a matter of where we will be spending it."
