1st pope in 1300 years that wasn't from Europe. A champion of the poor, the migrant, those in war torn parts of the the world even if they weren't Christian. He was told by his doctors to convalesce and not return to papal duties yet.... but he was never one to completely obey the docs.
It will be interesting to see what part of the world the next Pope hails from.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Dolan was from Missouri. You might be thinking of Burke. Cardinal Burke would be a good Pope.

Dolan was from Missouri. You might be thinking of Burke. We are both correct. Born in Missouri. Archbishop of Milwaukee for 7 years before being named in New York. Doesn't really matter since being a traditional conservative at 75 years old he probably won't be considered.

Sincere question to my Catholic brothers...... Why is the Pope important? Is he a mediator between you and your relationship to Christ? What is His role in your salvation? Why does it matter who is or who is not the Pope?

yep seems every year or so one of them dies. job must really take a toll on them.
The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.
