What’s the deal with Illinois??? I’m takin my bride up to see her favorite preacher in forest park and was reading about here rules for conceal carry and then called the automated line and it said same thing I can carry concealed in my vehicle but can’t get out with it concealed I have to leave it locked up in my vehicle wow must not be any crime up there lol just wondering what is wrong with the people up there

Illinois is run by Chicago big democratic city and plenty of crime in a city that can't legally have guns.

Illinois democrats don't want to risk having innocent Americans killing their voting base of criminals.

The issue is that Illinois doesnt recognize concealed carry permits from any other state. And Chicago has the worst gun laws in the entire state, but dont worry those laws make Chicago the safest city in the world. LoL

What Law Dog said. An anti 2A state all the way. It took a federal court ruling for them to put a concealed carry law in place and they don't have reciprocity with ANY other state.

Another reason I was packed up and gone with in 2 weeks after I retired.

Left IL in my early 20s the thought of going back makes my skin crawl just can’t do it. Best decision I ever made was leaving there’s so much more to life outside of IL but what keeps you there is not needed in other places to have a better life.

Indiana did vote to work on attempting to annex over 30 IL counties that voted in favor of no longer being IL.
will never happen because it would have to be approved by the democrats that controls IL then get approved federally from the litle I read on it.

There’s alot of us who are basically trapped here.. we just don’t have the means to get out . There was actually a proposal for a penalty for leaving Illinois,,, I don’t think it was passed.. but it would heavily fine anyone who left and made another state their permanent residence.
They would access your transactions or financial information and get your money from your account.

You know things are bad when they are kidnapping and ransoming their own residents to stay there.

It's not the people. It's the democrats in charge of illinois. Most are from Chicago. There's a lot of crime in the area you want to go to but the butthead Democrat mayor of Chicago says there isn't. The rest of the state is normal people that have to put up with them. Make sure you unload your gun if it is locked in your car. You can have rounds in a magazine but cannot have the magazine in your pistol if that what you have. Some cops say you have to keep it in your trunk. There's no rule for that but there are some real idiots up there in those towns.

As far as property taxes over in St. Louis and south of them when you add all the personal property and vehicle inspections and house permits to build it’s more than me . When I built in 2001 the only permit I needed was from health department for septic it was free

I grew up in Chicago and an outlaying suburb , hated it. I was a a red neck kid trapped in a city boy life. Hated it, but was lucky I had ties to the country, grandparents had a small place by the Wisconsin border so got to shoot, and hunt the fields and woods and fish and swim in the creek and ponds. I left when I was 19 headed to Trinidad Co and .moved to Montana after that. My uncle bought a farm in Pike county IL and was really wanting me to move back there and take up farming but I just couldn't go back to that life, for me the whole state is messed up because of Chicago

they conceded that your car is an extension of your home so they can't stop you from carrying there.

but since your states health care doesn't play the ILL game of reporting you can not have an ILL CCP

bunch of guys at the club I used to belong to in Janesville WI who live in Beloit tried , they took the 16 hour training and all , then got denied because they didn't see ILL Drs

drive ILL end to end twice in the last 2 weeks , you stop for gas and get out as little as possible , just get out of ILL , the unfortunate part is there are actually many very nice people in Southern and NW ILL , they know that Chicago is a drain on the entire state.
