Wife used to clean houses she swears by oreck Get your self an ORECK commercial XL Vacum cleaner for 145 on Amazon now or another of the ORECK sweepers you'll thank me later its the best sweeper we have ever owned.
Clint Best of all the ones you run by yourself. We also have two I robot vacuums that run everyday on the ground floor of our house. They are great, but require routine maintenance, emptying every other day, cleaning the brushes and filter every two to three weeks, and replacing worn out parts when needed, but the parts are very cheap and simple to install. Oreck vacuums are the same way, anything goes wrong, they are very cheap and easy to fix. I buy both when I see them cheap at yard sales, clean & repair them if needed and resell them at a nice profit.

We have sold Electrolux vacuums for 36 years now, the elux company is 101 years old, Kirby and hoover both started a couple years later. They sold the Electrolux name about 15+ years ago to the swedish Electrolux so they could put the name on the washers and dryers, fridges they made. The old Electrolux is now called Aerus vacuum, still made in Virginia. I started my carpet cleaning business 36 years ago, always used an Electrolux. They have a five year warranty, made very well. I used my vacuums every day in some very bad conditions , as far as vacuums go. I couldn't do as good of a job without the good Electrolux
One customer of mine bought a new one from me because she tried it out, she said she was buying two shark vacuums a year. We sold new vacuums over the years, customers traded in maybe a 30 year old elux and some of them still had the original power nozzle belt in them! Most still ran good, customer wanted a newer model. The swedish company also owned Beam Central vacuum and Euricka. And then they moved everything to Mexico. The Aerus/Electrolux has an upright vacuum, a couple canisters, and a central vacuum. I highly recommend the canister I use for carpet cleaning. They cost 1400$ but should last 20-30 years, still lower cost than a junk vacuum you need to replace constantly. I can send you one or you can Google to see if there is a dealer near you If any service is needed a store can take care of you, we pick up and deliver for our customers, the same for bags and ect I have an Electrolux tank model. Works good. Has worked good for thirty years. Only part I've had to replace is the on/off foot switch. I tell people all the time , find a 10-15-20 year old Electrolux for sale used. Still a good machine. Parts easy to find. Yup, I got the one in the picture on eBay

My mom died 31 years ago and I have no idea how long she has had it before me, but it is a hoover up right that takes the disposable bags. I even use it in the cellar where I work on my toys. Lots of junk goes flying up in to it, click bang klunk, all sorts of noises and it still works......jk

This is the same canister I use in our home, it's 15-17 years old. The new ones like I use in my carpet cleaning business are all black in color Yours looks nicer than mine - ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/04/full-3135-255632-20250421_192157.jpg) I got a good deal on it new. There used to be a catalog/department chain around here called Service Merchandise. They went out of business in 2002. They had these vaccums for sale for about $425. It is a L.E. model - Limited Edition Yup , limited for sure. It is a plain design with no frills made for a specific buyer in a limited market. The lower cost stripped down version. Internal parts are the same as the more expensive models of the day covered in quality chrome and other visual features. Mine has been great. No complaints. Edit to earlier post - I wasn't exactly sure when I bought this machine and guessed 30 years. I looked it up and found out they made that model in 1988. So , 37 years old.

Hands down Kirby! We had ours for 36 years and it just stopped working a month ago. We are getting it rebuilt for $250. It is American made. Very powerful but it is heavy. The Electrolux upright has a lot more power, less weight, I've ran both of them over the years, a bank I used to clean had one

I'm good with the one I have. Slightly dated but does 90%+ the work of a newer model and it doesn't cost me a nickel. Got my money's worth for sure. This is why I tell people to pick up a used Electrolux , still a good machine , will last and parts are available and cheap. I got a neat place close to me (1 mile) An old school tiny little shop where a guy fixes vacuums , just vacuums. Has parts too , very affordable. Been in business for years. Went to see him a while back. My roommate had broken the plastic on the pistol grip on the hose by pushing down on it too hard. Walked into this guy's shop with the broken hose. Showed it to him and he starts digging through piles of stuff in old boxes. Finds another hose and switches the broken plastic piece with a used part. He installed it. My cost - $6 I went in there prepared to buy a whole hose for $100 or something. Little shops like that are gold.

I have thrown a lot of old trade-ins , and old parts, I have a few things people use the most
