less fun when you realize if you come off , your 50/50 on catching that prop unlike US race boats where your like 99.9998 not going to catch the prop

that's one of the problems we have in the USA, too much regs, if one wants to participate in a dangerous sport then by all means go to it. The only thing we should be sure of is that if you end up crippled its on you, not the taxpayers.

Props that close? No thanks. But I get the whole “let people do risky stuff if they want” angle, just don’t make the rest of us pay for it if it goes sideways.

I saw that in Australia years ago. Nothing like that one the mainland of south east asia then. Not sure if they had conventional drive of long shafts in the '70s though. But they were crazy or drunk, it was a big deal to them.....jk
