I have ALWAYS had to pay to ship my fur through USPS, to get it to ANY FHA depot. I have to mail everything, since I live remote. I have sent fur to agents in WA, WI, and AK, ever since FHA started up, but haven't shipped anything to them for like 15 years now. At NO POINT in the past was I EVER reimbursed for my exorbitant shipping costs, nor was it EVER mentioned as a possibility that FHA will cover these costs (apparently in some instances?).
Which makes more sense for FHA, from strictly a business perspective (not to pick on BP

), but covering $57 for BP's 6 cats and 2 beaver, or covering a couple hundred bucks shipping for a couple percent of your entire marten offering?? Which shipper is going to make more $$$ for FHA??? I would think there should be a bit more common sense to this "non standard practice", because now I'm miffed to find out even though I shipped FHA a big batch of high value fur, I got no offer of reimbursement for my shipping cost!!!?? Thanks for bringing this up BP, as I was unaware that it was an option. You can bet if I ever ship to FHA again, I will be contacting Cambridge depot, and be asking if they will reimburse my freight on any fur I may choose to ship.
On a side note, I did sell a batch of marten to WMFC a few years back, at better than FHA prices, and he DID reimburse me my shipping costs. I guess I should have maybe given him a call this year!!??
