If memory serves, was same family (brother / sister?) as folks that made Victor body grips. Shame they went down. Out of the box, about as good as there was.
Hope they saved machinery and hope somebody still knows how to make them. Out of the box, they were about as good as there was.

Getting my left hand caught in a BMI 220 magnum made quite an impression. Strong traps!
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

BMI was made on same equipment that Victor traps were. Victor let them come in for a few days, retool the machines and crank product out.

When did Victor go out of business? Not quite sure if they are completely out of business but I dont think they are making traps because of metal prices. The company is for sale though according to the website.

I typed in animal traps and it came up. Pictures of 110,220,330, some victors also. 110 BMI mags chain doesn't look like the same as older ones. For the heck of it I messaged him on 110 mags said he had 10 dozen. Forgot to ask if pickup or ship. I picked up mine when I bought some years ago. Look for Cleveland, Ohio under pics of traps

BMI was a great trap. My understanding is this !
The downfall of the company is they held no real inventory. They took wholesale orders and produced the required amount to fill the orders.

If a Vendor had them in the Catalog and sold his inventory he was out of luck. Might be 9 months until the vendor could get traps again. Maybe longer ! He gave up a page in his Catalog for a trap he can’t currently get ! Back orders pile up !

Now you order 2x as many enough to fill back orders and hope you guessed right ! If not you sell out again and the back order hassle starts again. Vendors left them out of the Catalog and production slowed !

It’s a lazy man who can’t find his wife a second job !

It didn't help their customer service was severely lacking.I once called day after day to place an order and nobody ever answered. One night I dialed their number and I got an answer! She didn't identify as the company,it was "hello?". I asked if this was the BMI company and she said yes but they were at a trade show and weren't taking orders.I asked het if she had any idea of the people trying to get thru ordering and she says," yes!"Then she told me to call back another time.I was a little shocked at how this was handled. Its too bad, they had a great product.

The strength, consistent smooth finish, and general usability was top notch from 110 up to 330. Happy trapping! ScottW
