I dug this 1 cent peanut machine out of some stuff I had stored.
All original., but I lost the original key.

How much more would you pay with the original key?

There's large numbers of keys for old vending machines on eBay. You should be able to get the right key from the make andserial number on the machine. Many vending machines took the same keys because the owners who put the machines out had many machines and didn't want to bother finding the right key for every machine.

I looked there's a lot of what is probably the right key for under $8.00.

Just match the key number to the number on your machine.

Don't about the value, but sure remember those and the gumball machines when I was a kid. Cool machine!

More and more when I go anywhere I find myself keeping track of where the nearest rest room is.

Nice looking piece Depending on the year. Will determine the value. The globe looks to be in excellent condition. $300.00 to $500.00. Get the key. Price could go up.

Last time I saw one of those in use was at a marina. Filled with fish food. A quarter would get you about 1/4 cup. There was about 1,000 pounds of carp swimming below it.....some easily over 20 pounds. Cost parent of every kid that wandered by about $1.

My uncle had dozens of those up in their huge attic (along with a pool table) back in the '60's. He had boxes and boxes of old stale gumballs that us kids used to pilfer.

He started his vending machine business back in the 1950's, then added nightcrawlers to his list of items that he sold to bait shops where he had his gumball machines. Then he got a dealership with Grumman canoes, sold them to the bait shops too.

Eventually he became one of the largest boat dealers in the Midwest; Wolf's Marine.
