So yesterday The Boy and I were driving home from an afternoon hunt and saw two antlered deer feeding in fields. They were about ten miles apart. Seems awful late to be sporting head gear had one on cam in another county a month or so ago and thought that was late. Any ideas why they'd still be carrying them in late April?

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Mild winter and abundance of food and probably didn't get to involved in the rut
I'd bet money they were young bucks

Extremely late for Wisconsin! I’ve seen substantial (at least for the time of year) fresh antler growth by the last week of spring turkey season. That’s only 5 weeks away.

I got one on camera today still has one side. Not uncommon for me to see one in turkey hunting season.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime
