Peeled off. Might have been my trap prep, but I do not think so.

I just use FMJ like wax. I dip over top of the die or dipped trap. I dipped last summer and I ain't treating those traps this summer, held up well. Some were used all summer ADC and into fall/winter/spring beaver trapping.

Used speed dip for years. Tried Full metal jacket two years ago. Won't go back. Did you mean you won’t go back to FMJ or to Speed Dip?

I use FMJ and wax interchangeably. The FMJ holds up better and protects the trap, also not as prone to picking up scent as wax. Wax works a little better for freeze/thaw. The only thing I don’t like about FMJ is it gets a funny look if the traps sit in water Clint Locklear was the originator of FMJ if I remember right. He would say if you used it for water trapping it would turn the water milky.
