It was definitely a hen that laid that, but if it was a liberal hen, there's no way possible to identify what it identifies as.

My lil Sis lives in the country and have a nice big pond in the back yard. She was gifted 8 ducks and two geese and is enjoying them immensely. I'm trapping coons {9 so far} as they're being a nuisance and are very unhealthy.
There's also a sky vulture with a white head and white tail that may have made a duck disappear.

I do think that is likely a seagull egg. Ive never seen a domestic duck egg, out of mallard derived stock, that wasn't solid colored, not that there can't be any. I've seen domestic duck eggs that have ranged from white to nearly black in color. Are there seagulls at the pond?

Keith, here is comparison to an egg I picked up today. Wouldn't a gull egg be smaller? There are gulls around here but they follow farm equipment looking for worms and bugs.
Not questioning your knowledge, just trying to learn myself. I'm liking this duck thing

I am not an expert on gull eggs. Looking it up, gull eggs weigh up to 3 ounces. Most domestic duck eggs weigh 2.5 ounces. I saw the Hailstones collecting and eating gull eggs on Life Below Zero. They looked similar to that egg.

These are seagull eggs.

They look very similar to your egg.

They do. I wonder what the dimensions are?

Seagull eggs have virtually identical dimensions to domestic duck eggs. The Hailstones certainly seemed to enjoy eating them. Chip Hailstone is Caribou on Trapperman.

The field gulls that come here are a smaller bird I think.
