I use Credelio on my dogs and it is an excellent product. it is the most effective flea and tick preventative I've used and I've tried a bunch over the years. My dogs have never suffered any side effects from it that I am aware of.
I can't help you much with the heart worm. I've never treated my dogs for it. The incidence rate in untreated dogs is less than 2% nationwide and less even than that in my state.
I do see where they offer an annual heart worm injection now called ProHeart 12. If I treated my dogs for heart worm that is probably the route I'd go. I'd get them the injection along with their vaccinations and boosters at their annual wellness checks.
Eh...wot?

They are both equally safe; however as mentioned above; you should likely not use ivermectin products in dogs like border collies may have the MDR1 genes. So no heartgard for dogs like them. Use interceptor or sentinel or the simparica trio. Any product with “laner” ingredients like Bravecto (fluralaner) Nexgard (afoxilaner) credelio (Lotilaner) or simparica trio (sarolaner) should be used with caution in dogs with neurologic issues like seizures .
Must assess risk to benefit with all these issues. They say laner products can lower threshold for seizure activity but our Lyme disease is so rampant many clients and some of my staff included choose to still use them. I feel they are very safe

I would use this. Gets tapeworms too. https://yourpetandyou.elanco.com/us/our-products/credelio-quattro-for-dogsFrom their site. Credelio Quattro™ monthly protection for dogs Credelio Quattro (lotilaner, moxidectin, praziquantel, and pyrantel chewable tablets) provide the broadest* parasite protection in a monthly chewable tablet, covering against six types of parasites. Prescribed by vets to protect against ticks, fleas, heartworm, roundworms, hookworms† and tapeworms, Credelio Quattro is proven parasite protection for the dog you love. *Based on label comparison of the number of parasite types covered in a chewable that also targets ticks. †Uncinaria stenocephala

I use cow tags zip tied to the dogs collar for ticks and fleas plus cedar bedding.for heartworm I use a liquid with ivomec in it shoot in there mouth once a month 1cc per 14lbs of dog wt. DO NOT USE THIS IF THERE NOT HOUNDS IT CAN KILL COLLIES SHEPARDS ETC. I buy it from a dog supply business in indiana. 1cc of ivomec will treat a 110 pound calf and would be an overdose for dogs. Ivermectin does cross the blood brain barrier. Dogs need a broad spectrum dewormer that includes tapeworms every month. Reading the product insert (effectiveness) for the new oral tick product, I see Credillo has the best kill.

If you read my post it says I use a liquid with ivomec in it ITS NOT PURE IVOMEC.ive been using it for years and haven't killed any dogs yet.

If you want the best tick med then use Bravecto, it’s a 3 month chewable and doesn’t get any better. I think Bravecto is a great product and it increases client compliance. Downside is it doesn’t do all ticks for 12 weeks. I believe the lone star tick is only labeled for 8 weeks and we are seeing more of that in our area in particular. However Bravecto also makes a 1 month chew which would be comparable to credelio or Nexgard and choice based solely on which is more palatable to the pet in question

The only active ingredient in "heartguard" is Ivermectin.
a 50ml bottle is about $40 and will last you a whole family of dogs, your chickens and yourself until far after it expires (if it really ever does).
Doesn't do much for ticks, however. Just internal parasites, etc.
I just squirt it on their food. Vet says that works just fine (ala heartguard chews).

I have had many dog patients who do not like sentinel at all. Nexgard and heartgard is the most readily palatable combo I have found. But the simparica trio is second in line and that one is all included. My labs would not eat the other meds, no matter what I did to disguise the meds. Nexguard/heartgard, they gobble down.

Reading the product insert (effectiveness) for the new oral tick product, I see Credillo has the best kill. I used to give my dogs Ivomec for heartworm preventative. Haven't done so lately, because we don't really have heartworms here and I got out of the habit. Your dosage is correct, I'd give 1/2 cc of ivomec injectable (for cattle) to a 50 lb hound. I would suck up half a cc of Ivomec, then suck the rest of the syringe full of soda pop and squirt it in the dogs mouth. Dogs may not care for the taste of Ivomec, but given with a pop mixer I've never had one that didn't like it. As stated, don't give it to collie dogs, there are quite a few medicines that collies and cats can't take (maybe they're related?) that other dogs can. Ivomec is not nearly as poisonous as some let on, 1cc would not harm your average 40-50 lb dog, but it would be a serious overdose to a 14 lber. Not sure if it would really harm it, but I wouldn't try it if I liked the dog much. Years ago I had a dog with mange, the genetic kind, (I don't remember if that is demadectic or sarcoptic, I'm sure Smash can tell us) and my vet told me that at that time they only had one approved medicine that worked on that type of mange. And the FDA had taken it off the market to do further testing, and he was unable to get any. He recommended a non-approved treatment he had had good luck with. 3/4 cc of Ivomec (45 lb dog) given orally, daily for 60 days. It cured the mange, that never reappeared for the remainder of the dogs life, and with no side effects. I'm assuming MTHunter is using a medicine with a diluted dose of Ivermectin in it, not the injectable cattle Ivomec.

I've done the heavy dose for mange and cleared it up only to have it return. My understanding is the genetic is an immune response or more properly a lack of that can be triggered by stress. My understanding was the same. I was told that often times as they mature their immunity will raise, if it appears/returns at 3+ years old it will have a good likelihood of being something they will fight lifelong. The only dog I've ever had with it was treated and cleared up by the time she was two, and never had a reoccurance.
