Ive been told that a number different times by number of different tag alongs guests when checking traps.

I kind of chuckle at the memory and the situations. Share a story of a normal, rare, or unique situation where where you took an animal or multiples.

In the mid 1980's I was trapping muskrats and had kept track of the number of times I had 2 muskrats rats in one trap.. When pulling traps one day I had three rats , two by the tail, one by the hind foot, all in a number 1 1/2 blake and lamb coil spring..
Or so I thought for over twenty years. My friend, the prankster,,,Mark Steck had put all three rats in my set in the middle of Cottonwood lake.

The first time I set traps In a city park.one of the staff was showing me around. I pointed out a rat den. And I placed a colony trap in the entrance. This dude was a big guy, and I told him to get close to the bank edge and jump up and down a few times. Guess what 5 rats came out of that den and were caught in that trap.

There were days when I was into myself my ego had me thinking really great. After decades of seasons learning to get out of one's self and accept reality really humbles me. I am learning more each day about being more humble and realistic. Not a bad place for me to be either.

I was setting traps for Norway rats in enclosures at a friend's house. Set one up , set number 2 up and was in the process of setting up number 3 and the homeowner and I heard number one trap go off.

Opened the enclosure , had a double in a snap trap.

Both the homeowner and I were high 5-ing each other.

Norway rats are difficult , to get a double while you are standing right there is unreal.

A mouse ran through the office one day and the ladies screamed bloody murder. I walked out of my office to see what all the excitement was about. I asked them where they had seen it and I place a snap trap along the wall behind their cubicles. I no more than sat back at my desk and I had caught it. The ladies were impressed.

I only trap for the fame, fortune and all the beautiful women that come along with it!

I've worked on golf courses for almost 30 years. I've always been the designated mole trapper. I really like the scissor traps and once in 30 years I caught two on the same side. I took it back to the shop and everyone was very impressed. So for the next 4-5 days when I would catch one I would save it and put it in a trap with another one. I would fly into the shop holding the trap with two moles in it and say, I did it again! They finally caught on after about the fifth time. Sometimes I do things just to make myself laugh. grin

Was close to that feeling today. Had a local guy call about beaver plugging his overflow pipes in his pond. He said he had two different trappers out already and the couldn't catch even one. Partner and I set yesterday and each had one today. There is most likely a few more but it felt good to have success right away.
