So, I been cleanup and hauling out scrap but have old tires still on rims. I checked to see what it would cost to remove tire from rim, and they said 5$ a tirah. Is there any other method to remove those old tires so I can scrape out the rims. Someone said you can cut them off in my mind i question that and with what.

It depends on if they are bias, nylon or radials but I have taken small quantities off with a sawzall before. If you have a hydraulic wood splitter, they don't work too bad to break them down either.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Thanks 160. I would think there may be a blade meant to use on rubber but not sure. Yep, the wood splitter tip is a good one. Thank You!!!!

I didn't watch the video but a Sawzall or an angle grinder would be my two suggestions.

Old Teddy was here yesterday to pull a leaking rear off the Ford Tractor. Occurred to me as he was working I should have set up a video camera and just let it run. Could be used as a training film for generations of tire changers to come. Every movement was planned and deliberate and not a wasted motion anywhere.Tire came off like it wanted off. Same thing with a set of truck tires I bought for the rims. They fell off like they wanted off. The rims were to replace a set of Firestone split rim widow makers. An odd size. I then asked if he knew where I could find some good used tires. Said he would work on it. Next thing I knew, a good set of lightly used RV steer tires were on the rims and rims back on the truck. And I"m not even a regular customer.

BTW, Teddy is in his late 60's, stands about 4' 11" and probably doesn't weigh 130 pounds. Good things can come in small packages. A true artist.

Yep, I agree that method would work. My arms and hands are showing their age and strength is not what it was once. I'm looking for a less physical way to remove them.

Thank and that is the most realistic method for sure.

Ssd to hear you have decided you can't possibly learn something from a person based on style looks and such.

Myself I can listen and learn things from all people even those I really disagree with if they have a better way or are successful only a fool would decide they can't learn from them. It's faster or safer but nope not even going to listen becues of their hair, religion, political party, sexual preference ect... This is part of the reasion our country is in such poor shape.

Find a farm with a covered silage pile.
Sneak a few tires on the covering, which is usually a heavy plastic tarp already covered in tires

I do not recognize the biden/harris administration as legal

Better not do that without asking. Spent many days cutting tires in half for the silage tarp. Keep your own tires we got enough to deal with.
I'll take it you were just joking but tires are a liability to deal with. You have to pay to get rid of them. We've had DEC on the property when we had them piled up. Got a fine and had to show a receipt for legal disposal. There was over two hundred from decades of farming and living there

Our county trash transfer station will take 4 tires off the rim from any resident on one Tuesday each month at no charge. I guess we pay for it in taxes!

Nope but I due have long hair and brain large enough to know knowledge can come from anywhere and being prejudice can inhibit progress. I won't discount a person without looking at the info . But im sure many small minded people will.

Long hair doesn't bother me at all. Not everyone can keep it high and tight like Mr Bogmaster.
