The first picture is a streamside stump that I set for a few years to snare mink entering the small hole near the water (it looks black). One year while setting it I heard a rustling inside the stump and then a squall. I knew that sound having heard it hundreds of times at our zoo. Looking up I saw the second picture and quickly retreated across the stream. She used that tree several more times over the next few years.

I love 330 fishing it sure beats swatting bugs while waiting for a bite.

Snared this male with 4 white feet and lots of white on his belly.

Next two pictures are from our mink ranch. The first from 1975 in March as I am carrying males to the female pens. Each male had his own transfer cage with his mating card on the back. Used each male twice a day for about 3 weeks.

Skinning mink in November 1960. I was 8. To my left was Roy Burse, front of the picture is my father Fred and my mother Beverly. Before 1970 my grandfather made us skin the mink cold as he thought skinning a warm mink would singe the fur. By 1970 he relented and we skinned mink right after they were killed. My parents divorced in 1972 and from that point until 1986, when we went out of the mink ranching business, 3 of us could skin 1500+ in an 8 hour day. We could skin a hundred faster than the man killing them could get the next 100 to us so in between we skinned whatever I or my father trapped that morning.

Last 2 pictures are from the NTA convention in York PA which was in the 1990's (I think). I made a pond out in the tailgater section complete with rat house and mink snare on a brick.

I have caught in 110's a 17 inch rainbow, several brookies in streams, one small bass and several pickerals in my swamps and in a 330 a 7 or 8 pound carp. Turtles, one big snapper and several paints tooo. Also have some ducks to my record, mostly mergansers. And we have a lot of bear encounters here too......jk

And i hope you have a lot more photos from those days, we really enjoy them. I think I am 10 years ahead of you but I have no photos of hunting or trapin when I was young, cameras were few and very expensive. Thanks JK
