beaverpeeler OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Oregon	This is a crop that started to be grown in Oregon about 25-30 years ago and has seen increased plantings in the past 10 years or so. Can you guess what it is? My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

beaverpeeler OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Oregon	Cheater! Although I think you have the wrong species. It is Limnanthes though, of which there are about 7 species all native to Oregon and California. Oregon state developed it as a crop as its oil is similar in quality to sperm whale oil and has industrial and cosmetic uses. The honey from meadowfoam is fantastic. Kind of minty tasting and commands top honey prices. My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
