Not a Mcdonalds happy meal.

[Linked Image]

With the cost of a lot of fast food places going up , more people at going to fast casual or mom&pop spots. This is my lunch today. There is a Brazilian deli/hot food place near my job. They charge $7.98lb for the hot food. This was $6.75

What can you get at McDonald's for that price ?

Cooking a good meal is pretty much always cheaper than buying fast food. The shrimp look good.

Jumbos were 10 a pound 2 weeks ago at the fish market in SC , fresh caught

they were great.

I have a hard time going out to eat anymore
when you can get pork loins at 1.48 a pound and cut them up and get 15-20 boneless chops out of them I have a buck a chop and a ready to microwave bag of green beans for 2.50 that is enough for 2 people , you can eat really well for about 2.50 a person in 15 minutes , I can't even drive anywhere I want to eat in 15 minutes hardly.

she might be tired of pork shops and green beans so I mix it up and get some ribeyes some times as well price goes up to around 5.50 a person on those.

They were very good. Some bits of peppers and onions in a tomato type sauce with seasoning. Heck of a lunch.

I find it hard to believe the price. Just a tiny bit more than it would have cost to made by me at home. Very low profit margin. Shrimp here runs around $6 a pound cooked , $5 raw , shell on.

A McDonald's happy meal here would have cost about the same price , but a lame meal.
