Friend has coyote’s attacking new born calves. Property is 80% green pasture with strips of trees separating some fields. Hard to pick up any sign or skat. I’m relatively new to trapping, so I’m desperate for any tips or ideas to be able help. Don’t have access to t-bones or anything for eye appeal. Hate to just shoot in the dark. What would some of you suggest?

Get some donkeys or guardian dogs and let them do the work.

A well bedded and blended subtle urine set along any possible travel routes. They are highly territorial right now with it being whelping time. Dont set too many traps! Just a few. If you dont feel ok with doing this, your friend should hire a professional.

If your friend is loosing calves and IF you consider him a friend tell him to call a professional.

Calf killers are rare and there is only 1 cure for them. Snagging a few of their pups is NOT the cure.

A jenny or boss mare would be wise investments.
