They are going crazy this morning. I was cooking breakfast and could hear them gobbling from inside the house. It amazes me that 10-12 years ago we had no turkeys and now they are everywhere.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I went and worked on a tractor this morning and they gobbled their heads off. I could see them on the north slope sticking their head out and a few seconds later I heard the goggle. Lol Some time they are tight lipped and not a sound. Interesting why that is also.

You don’t need a couple old Missouri trappers to run up there and take a couple off your hands do ya? Come on up and kill as many as you like. I am not overly fond of them or the damage they do to my apples. Hopefully you are poor shot and wound 25-30 before you accidentally kill one.

10-12 years ago we had piles of turkeys, now thanks to the cats and coyotes we have very few in my hunting area

Some times it easy and the next impossible. A guy was working a tractor on my place and seen 5 gobblers come into the alfalfa field right where he was working. Went and got his gun found a shell and waited and they walked right by him. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/05/full-23688-256811-img_5981.jpg)

Cold as ice here it’s been windy, cool with high humidity still bunched up quiet , once they fly down with a little random gobbling. Almost no response to calling even near the roost.

Did you come down to Missouri this year Law Dog? I went to WI to call for a buddy that drew a tag a couple weeks ago. My buddy in MO has been out and had some action but the Hills can be tough at times but the forecast is good and rooms are cheap in the off season so I’ll go out that way when the weathers good. If I tag out in SD I head into WY and get a tag over the counter. Seen a good number of birds the last 2 years elk hunting out there.
