I have 19 Spypoint cameras out, figured it was near fawning time again here in western Pa. Saw one tonight on a pic. Thick multi flora rose patch. Always like seeing the cycle start over. Lots of buck with new antlers growth starting now.

Last year, my first fawn pic was 5/12/24. This pic was only 150 yards from this year’s pic.

That fawn is brand spanking new looking. Do you think it's a singleton?

I've been seeing a lot of deer, but haven't seen any 2025 fawns yet.

Our peak fawn drop is underway. Started about 3 weeks or so ago. Will continue well into summer.

Here's only one I've got a pic of so far...back in mid-April..

I have been looking but haven't seen any as of yet. It is about time. Our Does seem to keep their fawns in cover for a few weeks before I see them out in our open areas. Kind of routine around here. No cams out so there may be some out and about after dark that we don't see yet.

I do see a few of our big girls still carrying. One usually births triplets nearly every year and one twins.

What date is your peak rut? The time will be soon as I see some big mature doe laying along side the Highway as they move away from heavy cover .

I've always kept track of the early fawn drops in my hunting area for the purpose of figuring out where rut activity starts early
Easiest way to pattern the up coming rut in my opinion
