Sporty as in military combat, they're going at each other pretty hard....Both countries are nuclear powers.

They've had long standing feud over the Kashmir region. Long history going back pre British Raj and partition also includes sectarian Muslim vs Hindu, guess which side is the nasty one, while Kashmir itself represents third party Sikh.

To compound things the Kashmir western border is the Indus River, sacred to both sides, and the source of 90% of Pakistan's water. Less so on India's side but they do rely heavily on it, mostly hydroelectric.

The latest latest uproar was triggered by an attack on Hindu tourists in Kashmir by Islamic terrorists, who'd a thunk it, based out of Pakistan.

India claims to have pre-emptively taken out several "terrorist sites" in Pakistan. Pakistan has vowed revenge.

The unknown known is that both nations have nukes. Will their little spat go nuclear?

Oh, and India's other neighbor to the north, China, makes some claims on parts of Kashmir as well. They've also had a recent border spat with India and came up short.

Heard about the India/China border spat...India is the only country with more people than China I believe.

The Indians and Pakistanis in Canada and Great Britain have been fighting each other off and on since last year. There's a lot of concern that an actual war between India and Pakistan will lead to major violence between them in the Western countries they are colonizing.

A few more odd and ends. Kashmir historically is more of an autonomous region within the Raj being ethnically and religiously distinct from the Hindus and Muslims. Some historians claim the area reflects the remnants of Greek culture from the time of Alexander. During the time of the Raj Kashmir retained autonomy as a princely state ruled by a maharaji vassal to the British empire and was one of if not the last to be be incorporated into India post partition.

Pakistan represents the most radical and fundamentalist Islamic elements of the old Indian state that chose to separate post independence, the partition. Hundreds of thousands died during partition. India still retains a large population of Muslims, larger than the total population of Pakistan, as their second most numerous religious group behind Hindus. Pakistan also has another issue with their own Pashtun population many of which are afghans thanks to the decades of war to the north. Many of those are even too radical for the Muslims in charge of Pakistan.

I was surprised to learn that India was in the top 10 of countries that are hostile to Christians.

Just another short lived squirmish between them. Nothing that should cause the stock market to go down and prices to go up.

That's my thinking as well. Those two have been puffing and posturing for over half a century and occasionally have to blow off steam.

BUT the Pakis worry me. Call me a bigot but that moon god religion of their's encourages acts of mass destruction and they got some folks in the country that even they think went off the deep end.

Most of the world's scammers are based in India. I wish President Trump would take them out with drone strikes.

Pakistan has been closer to us and India has been closer to Russia. Since President Trump was reelected, India has been giving strong indications that they want to become closer to the US too.

I watched 2 of the meetings of JD Vance and Narendra Modi, India's premier, from last week. Modi is doing all he can to build good relations with Vance, his family and the US.

India has a huge populace. China is right behind them in the armpit of the world, and without nukes Pakistan will get overrun if India goes all out, IMO....Don't really see that happening though.

It seems the US gets alot of priests from India. Nebraska sure gets a fair share.

Our country here was full of Doctors that came here to get educated. They practiced here for years and as long as they went back to India a week every 2 years they didn't pay taxes here. My biggest problem with them was communication.

And have made a lot of investments with their belts and roads in Pakistan building a lot of infrastructure worth billions easly in range if Indias missiles. they have some very advance hypersonic

Pakistanis I can’t speak for, but Indians you gotta watch your back. Very friendly out here, but I’ve got a few LEO buds, one in UC drug/gun work. He believes there’s not one Indian over 16yrs old that isn’t tied to the drug trade in some way or another. The others LEOs say they’ll try to convince you that the sky isn’t blue.
One thing for sure, it’s a big insult in almost any culture to fart on someone while they’re cuffed in the back seat. And when they complain at the station to someone, the cop bringing him in just says “What!?!? That is so unprofessional……No way I did that”…..lol
