I cant find the original post now, but recently someone posted about not finding fresh notches in beaver tails, only old “healed” notches. Today I had a double at one of my county beaver jobs, and one of them had a nice fresh notch in the tail. Picture attached. It is not the best picture of the notch, but the smaller beaver has one and it was fresh and just starting to show signs of beginning to heal.

I wish I would have gotten a better picture of the tail - this photo was just for documenting them on the county affidavit.
