May 6th, 2025 - over 18" of unusually heavy and wet snow here in the desert Southwest. Lost power around 0300 yesterday, no idea when it's coming back.

No power, so we break into the camping gear. Luckily heat is a huge wood stove and the dining hall was a 500 gallon water holding tank up the mountain, so fresh, clean (free) drinking and washing water is just a short drive away.

Stay safe, everyone!!

Crazy! I never associate New Mexico with snow or cold! On account I’m ignorant of the world

A little further west got snow and rain here. I would welcome that 18 with open arms. It wouldn't last long and we need the cricks and dams to fill also.

You are lucky to get it and thanks for the picture.
