Yesterday my receptionist was showing us a photo of a big gobbler strutting in her yard and got real excited and mentioned how she would like to have him for dinner. She doesn’t hunt. But we got involved talking about it. Other coworker is a vegetarian and kinda uppity and she got offended and said can we stop talking about this? I don’t want to hear about animals getting maimed and slaughtered.
We always keep things like that to ourselves and keep it light around her because I remember feeling that way and not being able to handle those conversations. But we are in a public setting and have the right to have such a discussion. It certainly wasn’t crude or mean. I wish she would grow up a little, she’s like four years younger than me.
I guess you can’t teach these things to someone who is unwilling

That's why we're in the state we're in, catering to those that whine about that stuff to keep things civil. Whatever happened to these people minding their own business and stop trying to influence others with their superior attitude and big feelings?
You can tell her to stuff it or try to keep things civil, but then she wins another round.

I quit giving those people the time of day any more. To heck with em. They've done enough damage to American culture and society.

And you are spot on, people will not and can not learn, if they do not want to. I start every training class I teach with, "If you are not here to learn, please leave."

We had one like that years ago. You can not reason with them. Can’t fix stupid. We all ate lunch together. It just happened to be snipe season so a shot a few more more cleaned and left their little feet on and cooked. Took to work and at lunch pulled snipe out of my lunch box. Naturally by its feet and had lunch. Long story short she quit and end of story the snipe were good by the way

Oddly no. But she looks the exact same way every single day. Hair and makeup does not alter. Spray on tan. Very critical of others. Good technician and very pretty girl but I feel sorry for whatever man takes on that piece of work

If she can't make a good sammich, she isn't worth the time of day.

Exactly, tame turkey isn't any good if not prepared right.

She is probably the least interesting person I work with. And the least dependable when the chips are down and one of us needs help outside of work

Just because somebody finds a normal conversation offensive, that doesn't mean that they get to tell others to stop talking about it. You weren't discussing sex, religion, or doing any sort of racial/prejudiced criticism of others. If she doesn't like a normal conversation, then she needs to remove herself from the equation. No need to cater to her, or try and tiptoe around what she believes in. Everyone has the right to be offended by whatever they want, but everybody else has the right to not care if they are offended.

Sounds like a recipe to end up alone and bitter, with 100 cats. After destroying a good man's life. "Why can't I find a good man?"

The American Native definition of vegetarian is: "Hunter who is bad shot".

We meet them almost everyplace because they are scattered everyplace. They can progress to vegans where no animal products are to be used. Some people can't eat meat or drink milk such as lactose intolerance. Those are not the problem. Its the ones that make a religion out of it. They will even starve their babies doing so. And its not only some far away religion that think grandma is reincarnated as a cow, but they are in the Christian churches as well. They well try to convince one Jesus did not eat meat because he would never harm a fish. Some of those don't believe in killing animals, they buy their meat at the grocery store, lol.

Next week bring turkey to work for lunch. Then say to the coworker who showed you the picture. "Thanks for letting me hunt, this turkey is pretty good." It's best to let the pic coworker know ahead of time what you're going to do.

I’d a told her to grow up and educate yourself on how nature and the food chain works. Then ask her why it’s ok for her to maim a plant to eat robbing it of it’s natural cycle to turn to seed and reproduce

I love hearing someone admit that they're a vegetarian. The A-hole in me always has to look at their feet and ask if if they're wearing carrot skinned shoes. The look on their face is always priceless and typically have no reply whatsoever.

I've used the same tactic against anti-fur people, who are wearing leather belts and shoes.
