I have been thinking about getting a smaller boat to use to fish some of the smaller rivers here in Iowa and be able to motor back to the launch point instead of having to have a vehicle at the pull out point. I was thinking along the lines of a 1436 flat bottom to be able to fish 2 guys and still be light enough to pull over some shallow spots we may encounter, but then I came across the sport boat and found from some old threads that some of you have one, how would you say the stability is compared to a 1436 flat bottom?

I use a 16 foot Old Town with great success, and tried a Yak once, but that was a disaster, with a fish on I would spin like a top!
