I bought the belt that GritGuy donated to the last auction and it is a work of art so first of all Thank You GritGuy and Wasatch Wildlife. He also put a really nice sock hat in the box. I was just wondering if anyone might have one of these Newhouse buckles they would part with or know where I could find one.
Thank You. Scott

Looks like he needs another year;-)

What are the dimensions on one of these buckles? I have never heard of one and had to go look it up. That is pretty neat. Might have to try and find one for a graduation gift next year

I’m not sure on the dimensions. Yes, I think they are pretty cool. I got lucky and have one on the way.

I have 2 and no I'm not parting with them.
Jim Chizek who made these Buckels was a retired Wisconsin Game warden. And he got in touch with me with this Idea. Well, I just happened to have a 4 1/2 wolf trap so I gave him the trap so he could recreate the pan into a buckle.
The buckle was produced in 1981.

They are 3" x3"

I've been keeping my eye out for one myself. Greg Paulman on here was thinking of making repros of them.

With permission, you could sand cast those and pour more. I bet there would be a decent market for them.

One looks like it's copyright protected. But the other one in the pic must be a repro?

The one with the bent belt attachment was the original Buckel. But I don't know If some of the later ones had the straight belt attachment or maybe it's a copy. I'm sure James has passed so I'm not sure about the patent.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

They are both original. They were gifted to me many years ago by an old friend. One he wore (out) and the other was kept new. He was an avid Newhouse collector and very active in the rendezvous circles as the "Jackal". He passed away in 2015. Some of you may recognize him or at least the coin.
