I use to think this also, but found its not true. There's no federal law requiring a business to accept cash as payment, and only a dozen states have a law requiring it.

Alaska isn't one of the dozen requiring it.

That's true I guess, in a technical sense. But if you don't pay and they take you to court and the court orders you to pay, you can pay in cash since it's legal to pay a court ordered payment using legal tender, which is basically just an extra step that ends up meaning you can pay in cash. Or so is my understanding, I'm not a lawyer.

How will I be able to bribe politicians without cash? Pretty sure politicians won't eliminate cash.

Yeah, it's definitely an interesting shift happening with cash slowly disappearing in some places. It’s kind of wild to think about a world where we might have to rely on digital payments for everything, but it's already happening with apps like Venmo and CashApp taking over a lot of transactions

Cash isn't going away, drug trade & crooked politicians will see to that...99% of crime is financed with cash, regardless of the globalists wet dream.

I bought pigeons from an Amish guy earlier today in Millersburg, Ohio. I paid him cash. He has a new greenhouse business. I also bought some pepper plants and sage from him and paid in cash too, but noticed he had a battery powered card reader on the counter.

It is a pretty touristy area. Some of the Amish will even pose with tourists for money, in there buggies. The strangest experience I had was buying exotic pheasants at the Mount Hope Swap, from 3 Amish teenagers in a solar powered golf cart. I once had to pick up an Amish guy at a Halloween party at a school, after dark. They used lanterns inside for light, but had solar powered lights in the detached bathrooms. I have lots of Amish phone numbers in my phone.

One of the advantages of using credit or debit to pay for things is the employers don't need near as many people that know how to make change or handle money etc. Even with cash registers that show how much change is due there are issues that cards can minimize.

If bribery doesn't work, then the owners of the politicians will use extortion, blackmail, slander, and sextortion to achieve their goals. You ain't in the club Dirt.

If you have never watched "Saving Sarah Cain" its a very good movie about the two cultures clashing. While its off Chancy's topic it does show a high class columnists gal keeping her emergency cash in a cookie jar.

Another good thing about the movie is the kids horse is named "Dobbin" which means "work horse" so naturally every time I watch it I'm also thinking of T-man !

Old Judah used a combination of barter and credit for Tamar's services. He offered her a goat for her services but he didn't have the goat with him. She gave him credit but took 3 personal items as collateral. Those items being traceable back to Judah kept her from being burnt alive.

"In January 2024, Menendez was charged with corruption for promoting the interests of Qatar while receiving various illicit gifts such as cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes-Benz automobile"

"A New York jury has found the wife of a former New Jersey senator guilty for her role in a years-long bribery scheme that included stacks of cash, gold bars and a Mercedes-Benz."

Gold is nice, but cash is King!
