Probably should check with Arkansas DNR before you move a live rabies vector and release it.

Not legal here in Georgia.

Rule of thumb when doing ADC work -
Don't let your customer steer/direct your methods. You know how to handle the problem at hand and are aware of rules/regulations. The customer generally does not.

I have had customers try that with me. A hard NO.
Walk away.

if you get any in the future that want live trap only

your normal price X5 + milage and testing and see if that doesn't help persuade them.

be transparent about it

cage traps are heavy , bulky , take more time and are less effective. also the milage and time associated with transporting the live cat.

then call a vet and get a price to run a rabies test , add that to the price so you have the milage from property to vet , to release property at a dollar a mile and because if you catch a cat one day and anther the next the milage is driven both times.

then , you have to pay a guy after the rabies test is negative to let you release them on his property.

now you release them from your trap live , you leave out the part where your not stopping the owner of the property from killing them , they said released alive.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Green, you're missing the part about rabies testing requires slicing the brain. It's not a blood test.

I think the guy needs to buy his own traps and deal with it himself…

Some client wanted help from our vet clinic to get rid of a groundhog. The nerve he had even asking. I told him if he trapped it I would get rid of it. Even agreed to take it to game lands on my own time. He then said he didn’t want to put the cage trap in his vehicle to bring it to the clinic for me and he asked if I would drive out to his place to pick it up. I told him no and that we are all tired after work and want to go home. He said “I was hoping you all would help because you love animals”
Sir, we are running a business here. And we help pets.
This dude tied up more time over a stinking groundhog…
We lost money just talking to him.
I’m done trying to help folks who are unreasonable

Technically a foothold trap is considered a "live" trap and is used by the DNR to catch and relocate wolves.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
