A 1,000 employees walked off the job to protest the new dress code. If I was the ceo, I'd tell them don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
Stupid people. Guess they don't need a paycheck.

I’m pretty disconnected from the happenings of the world, catch me up, what’s the new dress code?

When you encourage wokeness and it comes back to bite your butt down the road that’s priceless.

Not sure, really doesn't matter. We all have had to wear some type of uniform at one time or another. I still do and adher to my own drees and hygiene code. Now at the end of the day. I'm filthy playing in the swamps and woods.
Point is. Don't like it. Then find another job or start your own business and you make the rules. Again, stupid morons.

Yup, read that and laughed! As a former tradesman who spent his career working for Dow, we were issued cotton clothing, blue work shirts and Carhart bibs (only to welders) or Dickies. Operators were issued cotton coveralls. Nobody quit or walked off the job! In the mid-70’s cotton was outlawed and Dow issued Nomex clothing, shirts, pants, & bibs (think race car driver clothing of that era), Nobody walked off the job!!

Yes, oil-soaked cotton would certainly catch on fire because I witnessed it on several occasions BUT with Nomex, sparks and molten slag would melt the crappy cloth to your skin. Nobody walked off the job! When you wore Nomex and sweated you stunk like rotten-crotch, you never did wearing cotton unless you chit your pants. Nobody walked off the job!

Starbucks employees will walk off over a black tee-shirt! LMAO! Coddled Pansies!

Apparently, they have to wear a black shirt of some kind. I guess they don’t like black as a color.

Oh lord. I can’t say I’ve ever had to wear a uniform (unless you count nomex when I cut timber on wildfires from time to time, but to me that’s PPE, not a uniform) but if my boss (also my uncle) asked me to wear a certain shirt, I would have no issue with that. He who signs the checks makes the rules

Starbucks has over 380,000 employees. I doubt that .0026 % is going to make the too nervous.

https://apnews.com/article/starbucks-dress-code-baristas-strike-3a39bbf41247d2090afa9b487ccf3d97

it is apparently over 2000 and they are union

they have been for many years allowed to wear a wide range of clothing colors under the green apron

the change is to solid black shirts only , they are no longer allowed to wear the starbucks branded apparel they have and that the company has been selling.

they change pants to allow only Black , Khaki , or blue/blue jeans

they company offered to give each employee 2 black t-shirts

the barista thing is actually interesting

I know of a coffee shop that is doing very well , so well that they need more staff , but they are having a very hard time hiring the quality of staff that they require , so they were burning out their employees. they are closing a VERY popular coffee shop on what could be their 2 busiest days of the week , Saturday and Sunday , because they have enough Monday - Friday business that they can staff those days and make a profit on those days alone without the Saturday Sunday business.

this is Fire Fly in Oregon WI
the have bakery , food , and cheese , a large space that they have full all the time with people

it is actually interesting how many people who work remote can do so from a coffee shop.

They make me wear black scrubs at the hospital (unless I go to surgery and then it is the blue ones)

I don't care for the black but the paycheck helps me get over it laugh

The problem with most people today is that they have been let do what they want, when they want and how they want. Try to get them reined back in and they meltdown

Hope SBs holds their ground and does not cave to the whiny punks

Still think their coffee sucks

there are a lot of things I would walk off the job over but clothing requirements would not be one. In construction they moved to requiring hi vis green or orange shirts or vest over your shirt.

At work I have Fire retard shirts and pants supplied by the company. even though being an equipment operator in enclosed cab and NOT being required to wear them I do. saves me a lot of money over the years and I do like the pants they fit and feel more like dress pants loose and light not as stiff as jeans. They do the laundry as well an outside company supplies the uniforms and washes them. Now I take them.home and wash them only becuese it saves me time. If I changed at work I would be doing that on my time then clocking in same when leaving clocking out then shower and change. Instead I wear tlmy uniform in and out and save the time having to change. The only time my uniforms go in a company bin is if they need a repair or replacement.

If I had to guess it's saved me thousands in clothing over the last 19 years. Heck at least a few k just In boots alone. I have not had to buy work boots in the last 19 years.

If the employer has requirements the employee can comply or find a different job. blows my mind how entitled so many are today. I guess not many people had to hold the light for their dad when fixing the family car on Sunday night broke down in a parking lot in the rain. Never developed thick skin and not been coddled by mommy.

Are they uni-sex t-shirts, or do they make them choose men's or women's. I can see more epic yelling at the sky, LOL.
