Guys , I’ve established that my abs module has gone out on my Silverado,, it’s a pretty expensive part,,, I was told I can drive around with it until I get it fixed,,, the problem is the blasted ,, ding, ding, ding that keeps going off.
I turned up my radio to try to drown it out.

Is there a way to disable that infernal noise???

Check out YouTube. It seems there are videos on fixing about anything else. I'd be surprised if there isn't one on how to disable an abs module warning sound.

2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. Sounds like it’s coming from the dash somewhere

Look on the inside cover of your fuse box and find out which fuse is for the abs and pull it should disable it.

Unless the fuse also controls something else, tried that on a older chevy S10 for seatbelt dinger and the radio wouldn't work....

I was able to disable the seat belt ding on my truck by switching the key on and off so many times, so maybe something similar for the ABS warning...

get a seat belt extender or while trapping and in and out a bunch , plug seat belt in and sit on it

seatbelt extenders plug into the seat belt end and give a few more inches of seatbelt between the belt and buckle , if you have hand issues like a old freind of mine who mangled both hands he had tall seat belt extenders that were up where he could easily reach them
like 6 inch hard extensions

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Is the brake sensor and the seatbelt sensor the same sensor, some trucks seen to have multiple ones for every occasion.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I would pay good money to get every dinger & safety indicator disabled on my 2018 Tacoma...It's probably engineered to make that near impossible though.

My 2008 Tacoma is so much better in that regard....Made before the stupidity stepped in.

I pulled the ABS fuse,, was a 60 amp,,, but that didn’t work. It was worth a shot.
Guess I’ll just have to deal with it

my door digger would random stay on . I would pull the fuze but the windshield wipers and speedometer were also on that fuze. the connection for the fuze got loose ans eventually I tool out the radio so I could get the circu board out the speaker is on. then hit the two spots it was connected at with the sautering iron and it came right out. no more random ding but the horn no longer works.

Look up fixes for your year and model truck on u tube. my old truck is a 97.

If the dinging is coming through the speakers, sometimes it's just through one of the speakers, and normally it's the little tiny one on the A pillar.. You might want to see if you can figure out which speaker it's coming from and disconnect just that speaker.

A wonky stereo is probably less annoying than a constant dinging.

It sounds like it’s coming from the dash somewhere… it only dings when I’m driving down the road so I can’t lean in and try to get a better determination on exactly where it is coming from. I’m going to get a passenger to do a “ hearing test “ to help me better figure out exactly where it comes from.

SUCCESS!!! Sort of. The idea of unplugging the” speaker “ from the fuse box was kinda close..
I found where the chiming box was coming from, but it was under the steering column and had 3 plugs in it… trial and error and I found the right one… but, when I leave it unplugged and driving around… the security light on the dashboard stays on… I can’t see that it’s interfering with the overall operation of the vehicle.

And, I’ve unfortunately security locked the blasted radio,, I took it out trying to locate the “ speaker box” that was described in the second video that was shared, I didn’t locate anything behind it… I hooked the radio back up ,, but it’s not working,, so I’m assuming it’s a security lock.
That’s okay… I can deal with no radio until I get an after market radio..
at least the infernal dings is gone.
