Still having bad issues with back and nerve pain. No better with physical therapy so far. In fact I feel like I’m back where I started. So I went to the doctor today for a follow up and he is putting me on gabapentin, ordered an MRI, and is having me off the rest of the week.
Im feeling very anxious.
And more than a little angry

doesn't Gabapentin cause memory loss in humans?

so they are really going to be upset when you don't remember you took the week off

Careful with the gabapentin. I know several people who have had VERY bad reactions to it.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

I also was prescribed gabapentin for restless legs , it worked and also helped me to sleep but the side effects were worse than what it wa supposed to cure so I dropped it, same as a lot of the meds I've been put on, the side efects are worse than what it helps

If your doctors start talking about surgery there's another alternative to consider. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy. I had severe chronic pain in my lower back from stenosis, compressed disks, arthritis. They drew about 30 vials of blood and spun it down while I waited. They then injected it under imaging exactly into the problem locations found on the MRI. It stimulates the body's healing mechanisms. Within about a week my back was noticeably better and has been been livable since. My insurance would not cover it, but if it gets bad I will go back and pay for it agian.

United we stand.

I've been taking Gabapentin since the mid 80's for Agent Orange issues, with no bad effects noted.

Make the best of it grit your teeth and let someone else help you I’ve had to have my wife put my socks on for me cause I couldn’t bend and couldn’t lift leg to get them on but it’s all good 👍 I’ve taken injections in lower back and topped it off with Tylenol arthritis 2 every 6hours and that helps now I can fend for myself with limitation on my work activities just sayin easy does it only you can help yourself or press on and hurt yourself more

Gabapentin, Lyrica was prescribed to me twice. Both times my legs and hands swelled to unbelievable size retaining water. Both times it took months to go away after discontinuing. And it didn't relieve any of my nerve pain in my back. Tramadol is the only thing that worked for me that wasn't a heavy opiate. Lortabs, hydros etc... work but got me too "high" to want to trap, hunt and fish.
I've had three surgeries and now just live with pain.

Good luck Smash but please watch it with the gabapentin.

you don't need pants . put a dress on if you need anything

go back to bed and rest

the good news is you can heal up from 4 ruptured disks , I did it
then the rest of your life is make sure you keep active enough and your core strong enough you don't re-injure

If your workplace gives a crap about you they will tell you to take what time you need to get healed up.
I hope you feel better soon!
