Never seen it so windy as it’s been the last several weeks. I mean it’s windy in the spring here but this year’s exceptional winds it’s going to tough on the birds. I sprayed weeds the other day and counted 6 nests that blew down so far. Most were stringy grass nests no mud guessing doves then I found a couple dove feather piles also.
Over the last 3-4 weeks I don’t think it was calm more than a handful of days, whitecaps on the lake now the wind blew all night and it’s still blowing strong. Cool, wet and windy won’t help the turkeys and pheasants or the song birds but the bird houses should be ok they are solid and protected.
It’s been going on for to long to not do some damage maybe the birds will renest if the wind ever stops.

I think we forget from years in the past about the wind we have had the years before. Here in Montana the wind is terrible, I always have to laugh when people here say the wind doesn't blow like other states, it blow worse. Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota the winds blow all the time and is unbearable a lot of the times.

With this kidney failure I've lost a lot of weight, average around 114 lbs now. The wind has a lot of fun with me, knocking me around. We're in a gap in the hills and the wind funnels through like crazy, every thing I built I had to overbuild to withstand the wind
Whenever I think or the west and the wind, am reminded of a time as a kid when we drove from MO to CO........dodging tumbleweeds. And also have flashbacks to ending credits of Gunsmoke. That tree over boot hill.......bent over from the wind.
Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.
The saying here is if the wind stops blowing the cows would tip over from leaning into the wind so much. It’s been so gloomy I’ll need to plug I’m my solar watch before the battery dies if the sun doesn’t show up soon.

Hunted around Livingston several years ago. The wind would string the snot and spit out of you for three feet! Never experienced anything like that before or since!
Here on the coast it's been the windiest winter in my memory, not just wind but 30 knot plus winds, it's blowing hard right now, craziest weather pattern I can remember.
We had just the opposite last week for a few days..... almost dead calm EXTREMELY unusual for this time of year. Both of our farms are on a hills so it almost always feels windy. It was a little eerie when the wind isn't howling. No worries I think we are supposed to make up for it this week. LOL

I know what you mean. So many years of going west elk hunting, the winds were always blowing across the Dakotas and Wyoming. Lots of white knuckle driving if it was snowing.

We probably don't compare to most states, but it sure has been windy here as well. I too hate the wind, I work outside every day and it sure takes the fire out of you. I have a classmate that lives in Wyoming, he told me we have no idea what wind is compared to Wyoming. They can have it.
