I have 3 lbs. ground castor with enough glycerin to make it smooth and added some bto , and sb. Now my question is its creating enough heat to feel when you smell it, and opening the lid a visual puff of steam can be seen.
It's stored in a cabinet out of the sun in a steel barn in a 1 gallon glass pickle jar. has anyone experienced this ??

The bto has been bottled for at least 3 years. I'm going to add more sb tonight. Something is definitely breaking down.

i have had trouble in the past with pickle jars when i would do my cultured egg thought i had them sterile enough but the eggs came out soured castor is so exspensive these days you might want to consider clean mason jars and they would take the hot or cold very well
