I've touched an electric fence lots of times... Once it was raining and I was standing in a puddle, and there was an electric fence behind a wooden fence. I didn't know it was there and when I touched it it blew me backwards and I couldn't see for a second. After that, whenever I touch an electric fence I barely feel it. I don't know why... It's almost as if I'm immune to it now grin

Speaking of rings. I dropped a bolt in behind pulleys belts and what not on a combine. I could almost reach it but not quite, really pushed my face and shoulder against the side and reached as far in there as I could when I heard a click. My ring had snicked over the edge of something and there I was stuck on tip toes smooshed tight against the side. I could not get off this ledge edge or whatever it was. I lil panic set in when I realized I was gonna break my arm or that finger was gone if relaxed even a bit. Eventually used my other arm to pull myself in even tighter to get off that ledge. Sore neck and raw knuckle was all got but I never wore that thing again.

Years ago, I was up a pole and got into a Street Light circuit, (120 volt). I thought for a second that I it was the 4160, kind of a relief.

I think the reason you don't see 9 volts used much anymore is fire. Since the positives and negatives are on the same side they are easy to short. Don't let them come into contact with steel wool in your junk drawer. In this day of the safety Nazi's it is interesting that 9 volt batteries are still allowed?

Dropped a used/flat 9 volter in my pocket once that had some nails/screws in it too, burned a hole in my leg.

Bridging yourself on low voltage (<750V) should never be enough to cook and smell burnt hair or skin. Arc flash will, but not bridging. High voltage will do that stuff. I've seen it and there was nothing left but a spine, boots, gloves and part of his hard hat. The recloser upstream just saw load and kept pumping the jam.
Lots of funny stories about electricity, mostly over blown
Here's the first sentence in Manitoba Hydro's 1920ish hand book......
"Electricity. We don't know exactly what it is, but we know what it can do".......lol
