I'm never ever ever gonna sell this thing. eventually I'm gonna put a v8 in it.

I have a 98 with the 4.3 and an auto , it does just fine with anything you can put in the bed and not smash the springs.

It is and the 4.3 is a good engine. Had one in an 2000 S10, and it was 20 mpg at 12K miles and the same at 250K miles. I'd still have it if the NY road salt didn't eat it to death

That’s a good pickup. Don’t put a v8 in it, just buy another one with a bigger motor, or diesel if you need to tow anything heavy

I wouldn't ditch the v6 so fast.
Depending upon what you need to do the v6 is adequate for 80% of truck stuff and its much cheaper to run.

Having a manual trans is great.

You can keep the newer stuff, that truck looks like a truck I'd like to have.

The v6 just makes it a better more collectible truck that’s easier on your wallet, you can find those all day with a 350 in them, yours is better

94 was a good year for that truck

My plow truck is the same era Chevy, and it originally was a 4.3 V6 and five speed manual. The previous owner pulled the V6 and replaced it with a 350. I blew the transfer case last winter (definitely not because I was beating the absolute crap out of it...) and am searching for a parts truck. If the parts truck I find has a 4.3, I'll be pulling that 350 back out and replacing it with the V6. I ramble, but what I'm getting at is that I'd certainly consider keeping the V6 in it. A TBI 350 isn't going to give you much more than a TBI 4.3 will. The ONLY reason that I'd want the 350 is if I HAD to have straight pipes to rattle the neighbor's windows. I don't like loud trucks anymore, but when I did, a TBI 350 was the sweetest sounding truck you could find.

at a yard near the Interstate (lot of wrecks).
That truck was a 1990.

I looked it up, sure enough different parts. Hopefully I can find a whole truck, my wife likes it when I pile more "junk" out by the barn.
