My neighbor called wanting to sell me a couple acres of land so I went down to look at it and make a offer then she started talking about how bad our government was by cutting off her sons monthly check I kept my cool then things went south she got really upset when I asked didn’t your son die 2years ago and she said yes but that doesn’t matter the government owes me for raising him that’s when I decided to tell her ask what you can do for your country not what it can do for you and I left oh I did make offer on the land but it ain’t got a clear deed seems like our government has put a lien on it lol

I forgot to mention they just cut his monthly check off in march of this year no one notified them of the death and government wanted paid back for 20 something months of paying for a deceased person and he was in his 40s and never worked the whole family have been in the system for decades

and here I though failure to report death was SS fraud , if she was cashing checks isn't that Jail time , I suppose they will seize her assists and try and recoup the cost and save the cost of the federal pen.

Probably why she wants to sell the property....

Get a real estate attorney fast if she accepts your offer.

Around here, if you don't pay your property taxes for two years in a row, the sheriff's office takes your home/property and sells it to the highest bidder. The new owner is responsible for paying the taxes right away.
